Operation Christmas Child

Calvary Baptist Church – Borger is actively involved with Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry which is a project of Samaritan's Purse, Franklin Graham. OCC shoeboxes are available in the display location in front of the sanctuary, with a sign-up sheet to keep record of each box taken home. This helps with accountability and assures the return of each box.

We have boxes available beginning in February through October. You can adopt one or more boxes and have the duration between Feb-Oct to complete each box. Monthly suggestions are available at the display locations. Each person who adoptd a box(es) signs the OCC Sheet and designates how many boxes they take and what age group they prefer. The $9.00 shipping/handling fee for each box is to be paid before October. If paying by check, make it payable to Calvary Baptist Church with a notation that it is for OCC and the number of boxes. This is to ensure that we are able to submit the shipping/handling to OCC in advance before the November Drop-Off so we are able to track each box.

The Project Leader Team (Donna Gose, Thoral Johnson, Phyllis Mitchell, Gwyn Scott) will also pack a box for you if you choose not to pack the box personally.

A special Dedicated Prayer Service is at the end of October. Prayer is one of the most important part of packing a shoebox before it is shipped to its destination.

In November the Project Leader Team will transport them to the Amarillo Drop-Off location during the National Collection Week.

If you have any questions or would like to be a part of the Project Leader’s Team, please contact the church office.
